HOW WILL YOU KNOW IT’S THE AUTHENTIC DARJEELING TEA YOU WANT ?WHICH ONE TO BUY?
Darjeeling tea is region specific. It might be black , white or oolong tea. You wont find this aroma in any other tea , anywhere in the world.
But unfortunately I have noticed that some do market their teas as Darjeeling ,at a very low price. But here lies the crux and customers are mislead. Customers see the price tag as low as Rs 250 for 100 gms and go for it . But readers that’s misleading . You might be having a tea that consists of blended ,flavoured tea from Nepal or Kenya or elsewhere. So please go through the following details and then buy the pure DARJEELING TEA :
- GI tag has to the there in the label. It represents that the tea is produced in Darjeeling area.
- All Indian DARJEELING TEA has to be GI TAGGED as specified by the Government and the Tea Board of India.
- The logo shows the word Darjeeling and an Indian women holding tea leaves all in a roundel.
- It holds a premium price in the domestic and global market.
- It possesses a unique flavour that cannot be replicated.
- The variant of Darjeeling tea is recognised as FLUSHES .Each flush has got a different taste and aroma.
- First flush tea leaves are a bit greenish in colour ,cause the leaves are tender. The liquor appears to be pale ,with a light golden hue.
- Second flush teas leaves are blackish in colour due to the matured leaves and processing method. It offers an exquisite aroma , darker liquor and amber colour cup.
- Autumn flush tea leaves are also darker colour a bit brownish. The liquor has a coppery golden hue. The flavour tends to be robust.
