EARL GREY WHAT IS IT?
EARL GREY is an exquisite black tea and considered as a traditional English tea and is known world wide for its delicate fragrance. This black tea is mostly flavored with oil from the rind of bergamot orange, a citrus fruit. The appearance and flavor is between an orange and lemon .

Our Earl Grey is one of our AMORE COLLECTION, inspired by the traditional Earl Grey, but it is also blended with the beautiful sparkling blue petals of cornflower that makes it so special. We use one of the finest oils of Bergamot and blend it with the blue flowers so a mild citrus note hits gently your palate. The tea features lemony and malty notes. These contrasting flavors makes it beloved by many.
Generally you will find in the market traditional Earl Grey/French Earl grey/Chocolate Earl Grey/lavender earl grey. But VEILROMAS EARL GREY WITH BLUE CORNFLOWER PETALS is an enriched blend that adds extra sweetness to the citrus flavor.
HISTORY
Quintessential English tea but originated from the long history of Chinese tea experimentation. Chinese tea masters created tea blends using flowers and fruits for many years. The tea is named after Charles Grey who was the British Prime Minister from 1830 to 1834.The tea was served and consumed by the royals, rich and elite class. It was also served during the political and diplomatic meetings. The Grey family worked with the Chinese experts to create a special blend and is eventually sold to TWINNINGS and later on other tea companies produced their own versions.
BREWING
Brew at the right temperature. Water is the mother of tea, so always use fresh pure filtered water. As a thumb rule brew between 80-85 degree C. As the water comes to boiling point switch off your gas stove and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Then pour the water over the tea leaves. Use only 2 grams of loose leaf teas for every 8 ounce of water. Steep for 3 minutes. Earl Grey is best consumed without milk.
We always recommend loose leaf tea than tea bags.
TEA PAIRING FOR EVENING/AFTERNOON TEA (INDAIN HOMES)
- Tea sandwiches like cucumber, creamy cheese ,egg goes well .
- Wraps/parathas with cucumber, tomato , honey mustard sauce and cheese.
- Lemon cake, orange cake ,fruit filled cakes, almond cakes
- Roasted chana masala, masala papad. moong dal chilla.
- Baked samosa with veg and cheese, vegetable cutlets with mustard sauce.
